Suns cruise past Raptors to end 5-game skid
Leading the efforts for the Raptors, Scottie Barnes finished the night with 17 points, serving as the focal point of their offense. Support came from RJ Barrett and Ja’Kobe Walter, both of whom contributed 13 points each. Despite these individual efforts, the Raptors struggled to find a rhythm against the Suns' defensive scheme, which consistently disrupted their passing lanes and contested shots in the paint. Toronto will need to address these shortcomings immediately as they face the quick turnaround of a back-to-back schedule, hoping to regain their footing before the playoffs arrive.
The Suns’ explosive start was a clear statement of intent, as they raced to a 34-20 advantage after the first quarter. Their shooting was exceptional early on, hitting 8-of-12 attempts from beyond the arc, which stretched the Raptors' perimeter defense thin. By halftime, that lead had expanded to 66-48. Booker paced the Phoenix offense with 12 points before the break, while Barnes managed to keep the Raptors somewhat within striking distance with 13 points. However, the sheer volume of high-percentage shots made by the Suns proved impossible for the visitors to overcome.
